General Program Inquiries:

HSBC Mastercard cardholders enrolled in either the HSBC Personal Rewards Program, HSBC Gold Rewards Program, HSBC Advance Rewards Program, HSBC Premier Rewards Program, HSBC Premier World Rewards Program or HSBC Business Card Rewards Program, earn Points at the Earn Rate for eligible purchases charged to your HSBC Mastercard account. Please visit www.hsbc.ca/mastercard for more information on the features and benefits of each HSBC Mastercard and its associated rewards program.

Credits for returns, refunds, rebates or adjustments reflected on your HSBC Mastercard account will reduce or cancel Points originally earned. Each return, refund, rebate or adjustment is multiplied by the appropriate Earn Rate to determine the number of Points to be deducted.

Please refer to the HSBC Rewards Program Terms and Conditions applicable to your HSBC Mastercard for information about the Earn Rate for purchases made on your HSBC Mastercard.

No, Points are earned for new Net Purchases only.

“Net Purchases” means the amount of purchases of goods and services that are charged to your HSBC Mastercard account except for quasi-cash transactions (which include purchases of wire transfers, travelers cheques, foreign currency, money orders, payment of an existing debt, bets, lottery tickets and gaming chips), less any credits. No Points shall be earned in respect of cash advances (including balance transfers and cheques), optional services, interest charges or fees.

You will have access to information about your Rewards Account, including your Points balance, and you can click through to the HSBC Rewards website to redeem Points.

You can track your Points balance through a variety of options:

  1. On your monthly statement
  2. Online if registered for Personal Internet Banking www.hsbc.ca/pib (not available for HSBC Business Mastercard cardholders)
  3. Online if registered for HSBC Mastercard Online Access www.hsbc.ca/onlineaccess.
  4. Call HSBC Rewards Customer Care at 1-866-688-HSBC (4722).

Travel Inquiries:

No, there are no booking fees that you need to pay HSBC Bank Canada.

Book your travel your way, flights, hotels, car rentals, etc., on your HSBC Mastercard and redeem your Points within 60 days of the transaction date of an eligible travel purchase for a statement credit towards the cost of that purchase. Take advantage of last minute deals or online specials with no seat restrictions, blackout dates or advance purchase requirements. Enjoy the flexibility of being able to book directly with any airline, travel agent or online travel site.

An eligible travel purchase includes each separate purchase of eligible airline tickets, vacation packages, car rentals, hotels, cruises, rail tickets and tours.

You can redeem for travel using our Travel Rewards redemption option. You can no longer book flight tickets through the HSBC Rewards Centre; however you can continue to redeem your Points for travel using the more convenient Travel Rewards redemption option. This option allows you to book your travel your way, flights, hotels, car rentals, etc., on your HSBC MasterCard and redeem your Points within 60 days of the transaction date of an eligible travel purchase for a statement credit towards the cost of that purchase. Take advantage of last minute deals or online specials with no seat restrictions, blackout dates or advance purchase requirements. Yes. With the Travel Rewards redemption option, just book the best available business class travel option you can find using your HSBC Mastercard and redeem your Points within 60 days of the transaction date of the purchase for a statement credit towards the cost of the purchase. Partial redemptions are permitted. Visit www.hsbc.ca/rewards for further information.

Merchandise/Gift Card Inquiries:

Rewards are sent to the address listed on your HSBC Mastercard account unless an alternate address is requested; however, delivery is limited to street addresses in Canada.

In the event that the item ordered arrives damaged or is missing pieces, please contact the HSBC Rewards Centre at 1-866-688-HSBC (4722) immediately for instructions on returning the item. Items will be replaced without charge if reported to the HSBC Rewards Centre within 5 business days of receipt.

If you are not completely satisfied with the item you have ordered, you have 15 days from receipt of the merchandise to return it. You must contact HSBC Rewards Centre prior to returning the item for return instructions and to ensure you will receive full credit. Please note that you will be responsible for all return shipping fees.

Gift cards can only be used in Canada, unless otherwise specified by the retail merchant that issues the gift card.

Typically, rewards are sent within three to four weeks from the date of order. Merchandise will be sent via pre-paid delivery or regular mail to the address that you specify when you place your order. All merchandise and gift card rewards will be delivered to Canadian street addresses only. Financial Rewards Inquiries:

Your HSBC Mortgage Account number can be found on your mortgage statement or online through Personal Internet Banking.

No, the Mortgage Account Contribution offer applies only to residential mortgages offered through HSBC Bank Canada.

You can use your Points towards a variety of HSBC financial products including:

  • An HSBC Mortgage Account Contribution
  • A statement credit on your HSBC Mastercard account
  • An HSBC Personal Savings Account Contribution
